Cherish Parrish

A sixth-generation weaver whose baskets carry her mother's tradition forward.

This artist's work is shown through the museum and artist links on this page while it remains under copyright or awaits a permission-cleared image.

Parrish is a citizen of the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan, and learned black ash weaving from her mother, Kelly Church.

In 2012 she won Best of Show at the Eiteljorg Museum Indian Market, the first basket to take that honor. The Next Generation: The Carriers of Culture (2019), a basket shaped like a pregnant woman's body, appeared in Hearts of Our People.
