Glick was born in Detroit, earned his BFA at Wayne State and his MFA at Cranbrook in 1962 under Maija Grotell.
He ran Plum Tree Pottery from 1964 to 2016. Cranbrook Art Museum presented John Glick: A Legacy in Clay in 2016 and 2017. His work is in the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
