Sonya Clark

Clark was born in Washington, D.C., and earned her MFA at Cranbrook in 1995. Her thesis was the Kente Flag Project.
She works with human hair, combs, beads and thread. She was juried Grand Prize co-winner at ArtPrize in 2014 and received Cranbrook's first Distinguished Mid-Career Alumni Award in 2011.
