Campbell was born in Grand Rapids, studied at Alma College and earned her MFA in printmaking at Cranbrook. She has taught at the College for Creative Studies.
Her work explores nature, industry and technology. Rim drew on Detroit-area surveys about sprawl, and Detroit Weather recorded a year of the city's sky.
