Keshick was born in Charlevoix in 1946 and lives in Petoskey. An enrolled citizen of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, she comes from a line of Odawa and Ojibwa quillworkers.

She apprenticed under Susan Shagonaby beginning in 1969, and later taught her own children. She works porcupine quills into boxes, baskets and jewelry, sometimes with birch bark and sweetgrass.

She received the Michigan Heritage Award in 1992 and became an NEA National Heritage Fellow in 2014. The Michigan State University Museum holds her work.
